Here is a 1850 Granville Census, for Reuben Pettiford and wife Rebecca Chavis, they were recorded Freeman, their white neighbors last name instead of Pettiford, as you can see there is their son Silas Pettiford and my ggggggrandmother was Bedy Pettiford was Silas sister, who married Minnaird Pettiford, son of Thomas Pettiford and Faithy Anderson. Im a double Pettiford!
