Two Washington Tabourns?

Horse Stealing. — Washington Taborn, a free coloured man, has been committed to the jail of Moore county, charged with having stolen the horse of Mr. Isham Sims, of this county — the same that was recently advertised in this paper. Taborn having been once tried and found guilty of a similar offense, a second conviction will sibject him to the punishment of death!Ral. Register.

Washington Taburn, a free negro, who was sentenced to be hung in Granville county, and who effected his escape last Spring, has been apprehended in Northampton county, and committed to jail.

Sad death of a respected colored citizen.

Sad Death.

Tuesday, February the 19th., Jackson Tabourn an old colored man was found dead in the woods in Ferrell’s Township, two miles above Stanhope. He had been from home and was returning at the time of his death. The cause of his sudden demise is unknown, but it thought that he died a natural death. He was a respected colored citizen and his death is to be deplored.

In the 1880 mortality schedule of Nash County: Jackson Tayborn, 56, colored, died February, apoplexy.

Dorsey Taborn. Died 3 July 1918, Jackson, Nash County. Negro. Widower of Martha Taborn. Age 76 years, 2 months, 26 days. Farmer. Born Nash County to Allen Taborn and Mary Mitchell, both of Nash County. Buried “Negro cemetery.” Informant, Neal Taborn, Spring Hope.

William Howard. Died 10 April 1928, Mannings, Nash County. Colored. Widower. Age 78 years, 6 months, 1 day. Farm laborer. Born Nash County, to W. Riley Howard and Absila Taborn. Buried family cemetery. Informant, Tilman Richardson.
